Simple Business Ideas From Home |
There are four basic businesses models that cover most home based businesses they are:
1) MLMs
2) Affiliate
3) Franchise
4) Online Entrepreneur (which can be associated with any of the other three listed)
Each possibility has its pros and cons. I have owned and operated businesses within all four frameworks over the years.
MLM
MLMs are certainly the cheapest to get involved with. The biggest downside to MLMs is that it usually takes getting hundreds of folks into your down-line before you see any ongoing income. Very few folks (less than 1%) actually make a living in the MLM industry.
Affiliate
Affiliates usually have some startup costs and a good return, but it is important to keep in mind that affiliate marketing is just that "marketing." If that is what you want to do. Find a good affiliate and go to work.
Franchise
Franchises are usually your safest bet with proven business models, but are usually much more expensive to buy into.
Online Entrepreneur
All of these structures are found under the category of "Online entrepreneur." In my opinion, regardless of what you decide to do in business these days, you must have a good online presence to succeed.
If you are looking to start a business from scratch the possibilities are endless; however, make sure you are considering the following:
1) Do I have the expertise and passion make this idea successful?
2) Does the business have a marketable product or service?
3) What are the realistic startup costs and net profit?
4) How am I going to successfully market the business?
When considering what home based endeavors to pursue, I would encourage you to ask yourself one question. What am I really passionate about? It is not always necessary for you to have past experience in the niche that you are going into, but you must have a genuine interest in it. Run your interests through a search engine with the keywords "home based business" and you will find countless ideas and opportunities. That is the power of the internet!

Because of what I do in my home based business, I have reviewed and worked with hundreds of MLMs over the last few years. I am too busy to take on any new projects right now, but I was very intrigued by a growing MLM by the name of SendOutCards. This is an MLM, and like any MLM company, I believe it would take anyone a number of months to build a down-line large enough to make a living at it.
