The Best Tom Cruise Movies Of His Career |
Tom Cruise has had some fantastic movies over the years. He went through a period where he was not so favorable in the public eye (jumping on the couch incident on Oprah/preaching Scientology), but he has somehow managed to win audiences over again. In my opinion, he was always great, even if he was a little too emotional about certain issues.
Whether or not you are a fan of him as a person, it is hard to argue with Tom Cruise's list of movies that he has starred in. Here are some of my favorites.
One movie that certainly makes the list of Tom Cruise movies for me is Risky Business. This is one of the iconic high school films of the 1980s, even if doesn't take place within the school, per se.
Another movie which I will mention is Interview With The Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles. Long before the world became fascinated with Vampires (ahem, Twilight and True Blood), Tom Cruise starred in this awesome film. This movie also stars Brad Pitt and Christian Slater.
It is impossible to make a list of the best Tom Cruise movies without mentioning an action film. For me, it never got better than Days Of Thunder. This remains one of the best racing films (if not the best) to this day.
One film that holds a special place in my heart is Cameron Crowe's Vanilla Sky. From the casting (Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Jason Lee, Kurt Russel and of course Penelope Cruz) to the soundtrack to the cinematography, I love everything about this movie.
Rain Man featured Dustin Hoffman portraying an autistic savant and was arguably his best role of all time, but Tom Cruise could not have been better for the supporting role of Charlie Babbit.
One movie of Tom Cruise's that I have yet to see, but have only heard amazing things about, is Magnolia. I don't doubt that this movie is amazing, considering the great Paul Thomas Anderson directed it, and it is without a doubt the next film of his that I need to see.
